JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Expert Group, it is default file format used in Windows to view and save the photos. In digital photography, .jpg files are used. The .jpg file is mainly useful for compressing the data. For good photographs and paintings with variation in tone and color, the jpeg compression technique is utilized. The jpeg compression is not useful for iconic graphics, drawing lines and for texts. JPEG file format is not supported for files that undergo multiple edits. The quality of the image may be lost each time the image is decompressed or recompressed. If the photos are cropped, its quality may be lost due to compression technique. JPEG images are the file formats that tend to get corrupt due to its structure and high usage. In any corruption or deletion of JPEG files on computer, user may be confused of how to recover JPEG files. In order to recover deleted jpeg photo you need to choose reliable image recovery software.

Today the digital photography has become very famous. Digital cameras are used to store captured images in jpeg file format. In digital camera the photos are stored in small storage medium i.e. memory card. Sometimes you might tend to lose photos because of human negligence. Human error is common problem faced b most of the individuals. While previewing photos in digital camera if you have unintentionally pressed the Delete All option then all the photos present in camera are deleted. While changing the settings of the camera if you accidentally press the format card option then also the photos are deleted. If the computer to which digital camera is interfaced have virus, it might affect the connected memory card and deletes all photos stored in the media card. Photos can also get deleted due to unavoidable situations like sudden power failure or improper shut down during the file transfer.

To prevent photo loss user may take precautions, which may prevent photo loss like maintaining a copy of photos as backup. Once you find your photos are corrupted or deleted then switch off your camera or system as soon as possible to avoid permanent deletion of photos. Always use an updated antivirus to prevent virus attack to your memory card or hard disk drive on which photos are stored. Before transferring your photos from camera to other devices, just check battery is sufficiently charged.

However, even after taking precautions also if you still tend to lose you valuable photos then you need to use picture recovery software, which completely recovers all your corrupted, deleted or lost photos. Whatever may be the reason, you can recover the deleted, lost or missing image files by using Photo Recovery software. It can even recover deleted photos from memory card. The application helps you to recover lost media files from various storage devices like hard drive, iPods, USB drives, FireWire drives, etc. It can also recover deleted photo from Recycle Bin. It can even retrieve various media files along with image files of different format like JPEG, JPG, TIFF, TIF, GIF, PSD, PNG, BMP, CR2, CRW, and other popular digital camera images.

You can follow some simple steps to recover deleted and lost photos

IPhoto is a photo managing application used in the Mac Operating system to manage image files. IPhoto can also be used to import photos from CD’s, internet, digital cameras and scanners. You can use albums to organize pictures and the photographs, which were imported can be saved in both albums or in the iPhoto library. When you remove or delete a photo from the album, it will be deleted only from the album not from the iPhoto library. But, if you by chance delete a photo from iPhoto library, then it will delete a photo directly from iPhoto library resulting in photo loss. You can easily recover deleted photo from MacBook using Mac file recovery tool.

Mac is a UNIX based Operating system developed by Apple Inc. Mac provides graphical user interface, which is easy to use. Nowadays, most of the people want to use Mac OS instead of Windows OS, because Mac OS is more secure compared to Windows. Although Mac OS has a number of advanced features and services, there are instances when it may sometimes come across a various problems which results in data loss.

Some of the common factors leading to the loss of files are as follows:

Corruption of iPhoto Library: Often, your iPhoto library may get corrupt and causes iPhoto to crash and become unusable resulting in photo loss. This situation can result in heavy data loss from MacBook pro.

Occurrence of unacceptable characters in AlbumData.xml file: Sometime, AlbumData.xml file may contain unacceptable characters such as ampersands, invisible null characters and etc may not allow you to access the image files from iPhoto. Generally, the keywords, which are embedded with metadata of photo files, may contain null characters, resulting in corruption of data file.

iPhoto library manager distorted: AlbumData.xml file is only written by iPhoto and you are not able to change the information in your library by modifying it. Sometimes, iPhoto library manager, which allows you to rebuild the database of your iPhoto library, may display an error message like “The data file for this library is malformed”. This error may occur, when your iPhoto writes the malformed data to AlbumData.xml file, as a result it may not allow you to read the particular image properly resulting in photo loss.

You can surmount the above stated situations by rebuilding the iPhoto library based on AlbumData.xml file, which is used by Aperture and Front Row to find albums and images in the iPhoto library. Also, you are supposed to make a backup of all photographs so that you can simply restore it back from backup file, when you have lost or deleted the photos from iPhoto. If you don’t have any backup file, then you can use third party recovery tools to recover lost photos from the iPhoto library on Mac OS X.

Mac Undelete software helps you to recover lost or deleted photos from the corrupted iPhoto library from MacBook pro. This software can also recover lost or deleted audio and video files from the Mac Operating system. HFS+, HFSx, FAT16 and FAT32 are the different types of file system supported by this software. You can view recovered photographs in the Mac finder styled interface and if you are not able to find files in recovering data list then you can use fast built-in tool called “Find Tool” to find the files in recovered data list. This software supports both 32-bit and 64-bit Mac Operating systems. This tool can recover deleted images from MMC cards as well.

Step to Undelete photos from MacBook Pro:

Step 1: Double click the shortcut icon on the desktop or use the start menu to launch the software.

Step 2: From the main window select the “Recover Lost Photos” or “Recover Deleted Photos” option based on the photo loss scenario as shown in Figure 2.

Step 4: Once the recovery process is complete you can view the recovered data as shown in Figure 4. You can preview the recovered files by selecting “Preview” option. You can save the recovery session if you are satisfied with recovery result by using “Save Recovery Session” option.

Multi Media Memory cards (MMC) are also called as digital film, which are used to store image files. MMC cards are available in different size and capacities. Most of the portable electronic gadgets use different types of MMC cards like SD, XD, and CF cards etc. Earlier, older cameras were using smart media (SM) cards, which are still available but, these memory cards can store only less amount of files therefore they are replaced by MMC cards. JPEG and JPG are the two file formats used for saving pictures in memory cards. JPG extension is used in Windows platform whereas JPEG is used in Mac. In some digital cameras JPEG file format is by default made use for saving pictures. Generally, MMC cards are used to store pictures in digital cameras. Although the MMC cards have several advantages over other type of storage devices, they are more prone to data loss during photo transfer from memory card to the system. You can easily recover images deleted from MMC cards using some memory card recovery software or image recovery software.

Most common data loss scenarios are mentioned below:

Virus attacks: Viruses are the most common reason for corrupting pictures stored on MMC cards. It makes the pictures stored in it inaccessible. Performing Anti Virus scan on MMC card can also be a reason of image file loss because some critical files may get deleted from the MMC card when it is scanned.

Accidentally formatting the MMC card: Formatting is a process of setting up a new file system by erasing the existing content. When you format a memory card, it rebuilds the new file system by erasing the existing contents. So, you may not be able to access the data because, the allocation information of that data is deleted.

Unintentional deletion of files from MMC cards: While previewing photos from a digital camera if you press format option then it will erase complete data present on digital camera, which may result in file loss. But, it’s not a permanent loss.

Improper Usage: Improper usage of MMC card like pulling it out forcefully while data transfer is going on can corrupt the pictures and other files stored in it and hence make them inaccessible.

Whatever may be the reason for file loss from MMC cards, best way to recover deleted photos from memory card is by using the best photo recovery software as the actual contents are still present on the memory card until new data overwrites the free space. So, to prevent corruption of MMC card use proper methods to format memory card. To retrieve lost or deleted files, do not save any new data over affected memory cards. Use read-only recovery software to avoid permanent data loss from MMC cards.

Photo Recovery software recovers lost photos using special inbuilt algorithms. Along with photos, this software can also recover deleted audio and video files from memory cards. If you have accidentally formatted your memory card then you can use this software to recover the data. This software is also capable of recovering and restoring digital RAW photos from all popular brands of digital cameras like Olympus, Fujifilm, Nikon, Sony, Canon etc. This software supports different types of memory cards like SD, CF, MMC and XD memory cards. After recovery, you can save your recovered photos into any accessible drives of Windows like CD or DVD. You can download the trial version of this software and evaluate the recovery results. You can also recover deleted photo on Mac using this tool.

Follow few simple steps to recover images deleted from MMC cards:

Step 1: Remove the affected MMC card from your camera and connect it as a slave to the healthy computer. Download and install the Photo Recovery software on the system to which, the affected memory card is connected. Run the program by double-clicking the shortcut icon on the desktop. From the main screen that is displayed, select “Recover Deleted Photos” option to recover photos that have been deleted as shown in Figure 2 and proceed.

Secure Digital Cards are invented by ScanDisk, which is also well known as SD cards these days. There are different memory cards which vary in size and capacity. Micro cards and Mini cards are the main categorization done. Memory card uses flash memory in order to save the desired data in your handheld devices. These memory cards are used to save the data as per your requirement. There are a number of handheld devices that use memory cards. The digital cameras like Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Nikon uses the Sandisk SD cards to extend the memory to save photos and also they have their inbuilt memory. The captured photos can be viewed by connecting it to any computer and as well as printed directly.

In some situations, we tend to lose our photos due to improper handling of the camera, error in media file system in which photo is stored, turning off your camera when it is in read or write process, etc. After losing your photos, you would be in a sad state. You can choose appropriate photo recovery software for to recover photos from digital camera.

Have a glimpse at some scenarios in order to get familiar with the fact that can cause us to our photo loss from the Sandisk SD card:

Photos deleted accidently.

Transferring of photos lead to deletion.

Memory card corruption will definitely lead to loss of photos.

Unwillingly/unknowingly pressing delete all button while viewing the photos will delete all photos.

Removal of memory card done improperly.

Some precautions can be taken in order to prevent the photo loss:

Check cameras battery at regular interval while using the camera.

Avoid transferring of photos at the time when the battery is low.

Always go for a good battery support.

Create a backup of previously stored photos.

Avoid changing cards for different camera.

Apart from following these precautions if you still lose your photos from the Sandisk SD card, then you can recover it using third party application. But you should be very conscious while choosing third party application tool as different cameras have different extension to save the photos.

SanDisk SD card photo recovery application is the best recovery tool to recover all deleted or missed files from the SD card or any other external devices.

IPhoto is a photo managing application used in Mac Operating system to edit, organize, and manage the photos. IPhoto can also be used to import photos from CD’s, internet, digital cameras and scanners. While importing photos from digital camera, scanner etc, the photos will be imported to iPhoto library. You can use albums to organize photos and the photos which were imported can be saved in both albums and in iPhoto library. When you delete a photo from the album, it will be deleted only from the album not from the iPhoto library. But, if you accidentally delete a photo from iPhoto library, then it will delete a photo directly from iPhoto library resulting in photo loss. You can easily recover deleted photos from iPhoto using Mac file recovery tool.

Some of the common factors leading to the corruption of iPhoto library are as follows:

Corruption of iPhoto Library: Sometimes, your iPhoto library may get corrupt due to some other application o due to some malware or virus attack and it causes iPhoto to crash and become unusable resulting in photo loss.

Presence of invalid characters in AlbumData.xml file: Sometime, AlbumData.xml file may contain invalid characters such as ampersands, invisible null characters and etc may not allow you to access the photos from iPhoto. Generally, the keywords, which are embedded with metadata of photo files, may contain null characters, resulting in corruption of data file. Because, invisible null characters does not allow the iPhoto to find the photo files and writes the corrupted information to data file.

iPhoto library manager malformed: AlbumData.xml file is only written by iPhoto and you are not able to change the information in your library by modifying it.

You can overcome the above stated problems by rebuilding the iPhoto library based on AlbumData.xml file, which is used by Aperture and Front Row to find albums and photos in iPhoto library. Also, you are supposed to create backup of all photos so that you can easily restore it back from backup file, when you have lost or deleted the photos from iPhoto. If you don’t have any backup file, then you can use third party recovery tools to recover lost photos from iPhoto library on Mac OS X.

Mac Photo recovery software helps you to recover lost or deleted photos from the corrupted iPhoto library. This software can also recover lost or deleted audio and video files from the Mac Operating system. HFS+, HFSx, FAT16 and FAT32 are the different types of file system supported by this software. You can view recovered photos in Mac finder styled interface and if you are not able to find files in recovered data list then you can use fast built-in tool called “Find Tool” to find the files in recovered data list. This software supports both 32-bit and 64-bit Mac Operating systems.

Simple steps to recover deleted photos from iPhoto library:

Step 1: Download the digital photo recovery software and install on your computer. Connect your device to computer and launch the software by double clicking the icon or from the Start Menu. Now two options are displayed “Recover Lost Photos” and “Recover Deleted Photos”. To recover your lost photos choose first option and second option to recover deleted images as shown in Figure b.

Canon cameras are known for their brilliant lens quality, which facilitates great pictures or images. It has designed a series of digital cameras for photography-enthusiastic users. It provides good imaging options with high-resolution LCD and image processor to have an amazing photography experience. Canon cameras make use of CR2 and CRW RAW file format to store images. RAW photos contain the complete information of the image while they are being captured by camera using the camera image sensor and are also known as digital negatives. The CR2 and CRW raw images are stored in uncompressed format.

Canon cameras use memory cards like SD (Secure Digital) or SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) for storing RAW images, videos, etc on it. Photos represent the lasting memories of the past. Since, many people tend to lose their precious and valuable photos from their camera due to carelessly handling the camera, corruption of memory card, formatting the card by mistake, unintentionally deleting the photos, while converting from CR2 to different compressed formats, etc. In order to recover deleted photos from SD cards you can use good memory card recovery software. Digital photo recovery from Canon digital camera can be done using efficient photo recovery software.

Some of the prime reasons that contribute to photo loss are discussed below:

Accidental Deletion of files: You may accidentally delete files from memory cards using Shift + Delete key combination on Windows OS or might accidentally format the memory card thus resulting in data loss. Data loss can also occur if you transfer or copy files from one storage medium to the other storage medium.

Virus Attack: Viruses such as malware, spyware, trojans, adware, computer worms etc are the most wide spread cause of data loss in memory cards. These viruses damage important system files as a result of which storage device fails to boot, leading to data loss.

File System Corruption: Improper start up procedures, switching off the camera immediately after taking a snap and abruptly removing the memory card from the card reader results in failure of ongoing write process and loss occurs.

All the reasons mentioned above contribute to photo loss from digital cameras. To avoid photo loss you need to have an up to date backup. If you fail to have a backup then to recover photos from digital camera you need to opt for reliable digital media recovery software to recover lost and deleted photos.

Photography is an efficient way to capture and store the valuable moments of your day to day life. Captured photos acts like an index in remembering your favorite moments like farewell party, child’s first birthday, wedding ceremony, and so forth. Technical revolution brought a drastic change in photography like ancient cameras and camera films are completely replaced by digital cameras and memory cards. Digital cameras support different types of memory cards like Compact Flash Card, SD card, XD Picture card, Multi Media card, etc. Most of the people prefer to store their captured photos in personal computers from which it is very easy to access.

Like any other files you might end up with deletion or lose of photos. If you lose some word or PDF files you can create them with the same information but photos are such files which cannot be re-created. If you have deleted or lost your favorite photos, here is an efficient way to get them back. You can recover deleted photos from SD card by using some digital photo recovery software. You can also use this tool as memory card recovery software to recover photos from digital camera. Before going to recovery procedure, let us have a look at few common scenarios where photos can get delete or lost.

While deleting unwanted pictures from your computer hard drive you might accidentally delete some important photos by using “Shift + Delete” or “Command + Delete” key combination, which will bypass the Recycle Bin or Trash.

You might accidentally format your memory card without checking the contents. If the formatted card had some of your favorite photos, then you will lose them.

To make optimum utilization of memory card storage space while capturing photos, you might delete some poor quality or unwanted pictures. At this point of time if you press delete all button, it will delete all the photos stored in memory card.

While sinking photos between your camera and computer if you disconnect the device in between without using “Eject” or “Safely Remove Hardware” option, there are chances of losing photos.

With a few precautionary measures you can avoid the loss or deletion of your photos.

Before deleting any photo or formatting memory card, just spend few seconds in examining the contents and priority of the photos which you are deleting.

Follow a proper plug and play procedure while sinking photos between computer and other device.

Whenever a photo get delete from hard drive, memory card or any other storage device, only the index file or resource fork will be erased and the particular space will be marked as available, but the actual data still exist on the stored sector until it is overwritten with new data. Such data is inaccessible to operating system but an efficient data recovery tool will fetch and recover it using unique file signature.

Deleted photo recovery software is available for both Windows and Mac operating system. It is developed with an advanced algorithm to recover all popular audio, video and image file formats along with digital RAW photo files. Using this tool you can preview the recovered photos before restoration and it allows you to sort them on the basis name, date, size and file type. Using built-in “Save Recovery Session” you can stop and resume the recovery process as per your schedules. If you are looking for efficient, safe and secure digital photo recovery software then download this application and evaluate the recovery results.

Trash in Mac PC resembles to the recycle bin in Windows operating system. In Mac operating system the files which are deleted from the Finder of Mac are temporarily stored in trash. Trash is located at the root level of the drive and is an invisible folder in Mac OS X. “Desktop Folder” is called as root level drive in Mac. When you delete a file in Mac, it is temporarily held in an invisible folder known as trash. You are unable to view or access trash directory directly in Mac operating system graphical user interface. The default location of trash is root/user folder name/trash. Usually when you delete a file in Mac it is moved to trash. Later on whenever you feel that you need the file back you can easily restore it back from trash. There are instances when you accidently delete a image files using command + delete keys, then the file bypasses the trash instead of moving to trash, resulting in data loss. You can easily recover deleted photos from trash on Mac using good Mac file recovery software.

The image format used by professional digital cameras includes SR2, SRF, ORF, NEF etc. Data loss may occur accidentally due to many reasons on Mac OS X.

Some common reasons for deletion of image files from Mac Operating System are as follows;

Accidental Deletion: Accidental deletion of photos by pressing delete + command key combination or by emptying the Trash in Mac OS X results in loss of files.

Software virus: Viruses such as malware, spyware, adware etc, are the most widespread cause of data loss which takes place on hard drives of the system. This may cause data loss of important files and programs.

Re-partitioning the hard drive: When the size of an existing partition needs to be changed or a new partition needs to be created, re- partitioning is done. Improper re-partitioning process might corrupt the existing partitions and results in data loss.

Even if the files bypass the trash they are not permanently deleted. They are still present on the hard disk of the system until they are over written by any new data. You can avoid data loss by maintaining backup of your important data regularly. Regardless of the reason for data loss, Mac data recovery software helps to restore all your deleted, lost or missed files from Mac.

Mac recovery Software is the best application to recover data from deleted or missing volumes, formatted or re-formatted volumes and re-partitioned drives. It can also recover files which have bypassed the Trash. It uses the Universal Binary application, which helps the user work with both Intel and PowerPC Mac platforms. It has a very useful feature that helps you to find files from recovered data list within seconds using “Find-Tool”. It can also recover the data from the HFS+ and HFSX formatted Mac file system volumes. By using this software you can recover the deleted or lost pictures of various formats like JPEG, JPG, TIFF, TIF, PNG, BMP, GIF, PSD etc and it supports all various version of Mac OS X.

Steps to recover image files on Mac OS X:

Step 1: Download the demo version of “Mac Recovery Software” and install it. Begin the program by double clicking the desktop shortcut icon.

Step 2: From the main window select the “Recover Lost Photos” or “Recover Deleted Photos” option based on the photo loss scenario as shown in Figure 2.

Digital Photography is an efficient way to capture as well as store the valuable moments of your day to day life. Captured photographs acts like an index in recalling your favorite moments like farewell party, child’s first birthday, engagement ceremony, wedding ceremony, social gathering and so on. As with any other files you may end up with deletion or loss of photos. In case you lose some word or PDF files you can create them with the same details but photographs are such files which cannot be re-created. Recycle bin is a folder on the Windows desktop that represents the directory where the deleted files are temporarily stored. It is generally considered as a holding area. Files that are deleted are not permanently erased from the physical media. Recycle Bin provides you with a second chance to restore the files that are deleted. There are instances when the files may be accidently emptied out of the Recycle bin too and you can’t find them anymore on your hard disk. In this situation to recover deleted photos from Recycle bin you can use good digital media recovery software.

The most common cases in which files get deleted or lost are discussed below:

Accidental Deletion: You might accidently delete images by emptying the Recycle bin in Windows. While deleting unwanted pictures from your system hard drive you might accidentally delete some important photos.

Files that bypass Recycle Bin: There are chances when a file bypasses the Recycle Bin and gets deleted. This can happen when the file is much larger than the size which the Recycle Bin can hold. Using “Shift + Delete” key combination, also leads to files bypassing the Recycle Bin.

Files deleted by third party tool: Malfunctioning of third party applications or programs could also lead to loss or deletion of files.

Improper shutdown of computer: Make sure that you have closed all your programs before shutting down your computer. Improper shutdown of your system can result in loss of files.

To avoid above mentioned scenarios, you need to create backup of essential files. If you come across these kind of problems, then you can easily recover lost files from backup copy. If you have not maintained any backup of your important files then you can recover it quickly and effectively using Photo Recovery software.

Digital photo recovery software is one such robust tool which is available for both Windows as well as for Mac operating system using which you can recover deleted photo on Mac. It supports all different versions of Windows and Mac operating system. This software can also be used to recover pictures from external hard drive and USB drives. By using this application you can recover the deleted or lost photos of various formats like JPEG, JPG, TIFF, TIF, PNG, BMP, GIF, PSD etc, also various formats of songs and videos from hard drive and memory cards.

Steps to recover image files from system hard drive on Windows OS:
